A view of the South Carolina Sea Islands focuses on the barrier island
residents of the Palmetto state from Georgetown to Daufuskie Island. Decendants
of early settlers, both slave and planter, talk about their relationship
to their homeland which is rapidly being gobbled up by developers.
Septima Clark (deceased) , a former voting rights teacher for Martin Luther
King, Sheriff J. Ed McTeer of Beaufort and the King of the African village
at Yemesee are among those interviewed in this stylized documentary which
juxtapositions the lives of those on the islands with their wealthy
neighbors. (48 minutes)
A documentary about the lives of a North Carolina farm family. They
work hard on the farm, work at a job, and sing Gospel music on the weekend.
The film follows Caldwell Schuyler, a rural postman, his wife Avis, and
son, Trent, through fast paced farm rigors so they will have time to practice
and to sing . "You must live the Gospel life to sing Gospel tunes."
